How Cult Crackers came to be
Meet Birgitta and Dianna
We met when our daughters were in school together, and quickly became good friends. At the time, Birgitta was working for her family's cookware company and Dianna was the Editorial Director for an ecommerce brand.
Our story begins with the homemade Swedish crackers Birgitta made to help sell her cookware. People would say, "forget the pans, sell those crackers." She realized how much people loved her crackers and she asked Dianna, a professionally trained cook, to help her start a cracker business making and selling Swedish crackers with a healthy California twist.
Our totally addicting crackers are filled with good-for-you ingredients and packed with flavor and crunch. You can find them on grocery store shelves near you, and here in our online store. We bake our crackers at the Berkeley Kitchens, a wonderful community of small food producers in Berkeley, California.
Birgitta’s favorite cracker is our best-selling Crunchy Cassava Crackers because of its crunchy goodness. Dianna favors the Classic Seed Crackers for their sweet, rich flavors. But hold on, because we’re working on a new recipe, a Buckwheat Red Lentil Cracker, which is becoming a new fave for both of us.
We want you to enjoy our crackers knowing they’re made with your health and our planet in mind. From the very beginning we decided if we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right, using our business as a force for good. We commit to using only the best quality organic ingredients we can find, are certified organic, mix and bake every batch of crackers by hand, package in sustainable packaging, pay our employees a living wage, and do things with care and intention.
